Opinion

The lastest evolution of Javacard devices in term of prices and performances make them real solutions for ticketing systems.

Forum

Will the availability of Javacard devices favor the development of eticketing.

We received a lot of encouraging messages after the first issue of the Calypso Letter. It was sent to around 1,500 email address in the world and during the last three months many new visitors have registered on our website for receiving the letter and we thank them for their interest.

We are very pleased to interview Vivente Prior in this issue, because his successful story with Banco Santander makes two important demonstrations: first there is a strong synergy between Transport and University as soon as the business model is optimized, and secondly Java cards, coming from the market of the mobiles with a good level of price and performance, are already efficient solutions for multiservices projects. We are convinced that this fact will modify significantly the business model of the ticketing systems by lowering the part of the cost of the supports and speed up their development. Do not hesitate to comment this prediction on our forum.

Calypso Values Security

One of the main characteristics of Calypso is the highest level of security based on a clear separation of the component's and the software security which allows the choice of the best components, able to answer to banking requirements, on the one hand and a sotware managed by Calypso on the other hand. Thus the security of Calypso device is the addition of two independents levels of security giving assurance to make the best of them.
